Still Have Questions? We Have Answers!

Can I join or cancel at any time?

Of course! All classes are continuous and are designed so that a new child can join or stop at any time without skipping a beat.

What is the annual fee?

The $65 annual fee per child is charged each year your child is actively enrolled in classes. The annual fee ensures our coaches, equipment, and facilities are state-of-the-art and up-to-date to the standard your child deserves.

How do I know what class to enroll in?

Our classes are broken up into age groups and by skill level. Check out our class schedule, contact us, or come by the nearest SDG to find the best fit for your child.

What are the class sizes?

Every class at SDG adheres to strict ratios. Each class has no more than 8 students per instructor.

What are the qualifications of SDG coaches and staff?

All of our coaches are USAG certified, which includes: a background screen, Safety and Risk Management course, SafeSport, and basic gymnastics instruction courses. Our coaching staff also includes American Parkour Instructors, being the only gym in San Diego to provide the highest quality of parkour instruction.

All of our coaches are CPR/First Aid certified and have experience working with children. Most applicants have direct experience coaching gymnastics and/or other sports. We’re proud to have former teachers, physical therapists, and high school coaches working at SDG! Most of our coaches have college degrees or are currently enrolled in various San Diego universities.

Do you offer make-up classes?

Safety is our number one priority. In order to provide small ratios and class sizes and the best experience for each child, we don’t offer makeup classes.

Can I transfer classes mid-month?

You may transfer to another class if your family’s schedule changes. In order for your child to experience the most consistent coaching styles and progressions, we don’t allow transfers every month. Staying consistent is extremely important for the growth of your child.

What do I wear and bring to class?

For girls, we suggest a leotard, shorts, or leggings and a t-shirt or tank top. Boys can wear athletic shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. Any athletic clothing is suggested. Leotards are not mandatory. All students must be barefoot, and long hair must be pulled back into a ponytail.

What are San Diego Gymnastics & Parkour’s hours of operation?

What Parkour + Ninja levels are offered at the Point Loma location?

GymNinja (ages 3–5), GymWarrior (5–6), Beginner Parkour (6+), Intermediate (6+, invite-only), Advanced Parkour & Tricking (8+, invite-only), plus a Parkour Team by invitation.

How do I enroll at Point Loma, and how does billing work?

Create an online account, choose your class time, and select Point Loma at checkout. Tuition is billed one month in advance (prorated current month + next month at sign-up), with a $65 annual fee per child. Classes keep small ratios—no more than 6-8 students per instructor depending on age and skill level.

Are there local competitions or showcases for Parkour athletes?

Yes. Parkour Team athletes practice weekly and join friendly in-house meets every three months across SDG locations, with formats like Speed, Skill, Style, and a bonus Chase Tag. In addition, some athletes are invited to join outside local competitions.

What is Parkour / Ninja?

Parkour/Ninja is all about moving through obstacle courses that build strength, agility, and confidence. Using professional parkour and ninja equipment, kids learn to run, jump, climb, and balance in fun, safe, and challenging ways—while developing coordination, problem-solving, and overall athleticism.
