Demo Team Ages 6+ and Demo Minis Ages 3-5

Our girls’ Demo Team is a performance group, representing San Diego Gymnastics at local events, like Del Mar Fair, fall festivals, holiday parades, and others, throughout the year. The Demo Team is a secondary class. Students must be enrolled in recreational gymnastics classes for the opportunity to be invited to the Demo Team.

On this team, gymnasts will:

  • Build confidence and learn about the power of teamwork.
  • Learn showmanship and participate in team building activities.
  • Work on tumbling, choreographed routines, presentation, and technique.

Parkour Team

Parkour Team is an additional co-ed class option for athletes currently enrolled in and invited from an Intermediate or Advanced Parkour class. Parkour Team practices once a week to enhance skills and get competition-ready, in addition to the regular class time. Our Parkour Teams travel to our six locations and compete with each other in-house every 3 months.

On this team, athletes will:

  • Learn showmanship and participate in team building activities.
  • Work on tumbling, choreographed routines, presentation, and technique.

Our Parkour Teams compete in multiple different parkour competition formats:

  • Speed: Athletes complete a given obstacle course in the fastest time possible.
  • Skill: Athletes attempt to successfully perform specific skills at varying levels of difficulty; completing a more difficult skill results in a higher score.
  • Style: Athletes will create their own 20-30 second freestyle run, which will be scored based on creativity, use of environment, skill difficulty, and more.
  • Bonus Format – Chase Tag: In a 1v1 parkour version of tag, the chaser must tag the runner before time is up (usually 15-20 seconds).

Pre-Team

Our girls’ Pre-Team is separated into two age groups: Hot Shots (ages 4 to 6, practicing two times per week) and Stars (ages 7+, practicing three times per week).

To be nominated for Pre-Team, gymnasts must:

  • Demonstrate advanced skill potential, discipline, a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and a love for gymnastics.
  • Work toward advancing to our Competitive Team.

Our girls’ Competitive Team program provides discipline and structure, while focusing on individual needs. Though an excellent work ethic is mandatory, our coaches also appreciate fun and balance. Team practice times vary depending on the level.

For our Competitive Team, annual membership and monthly tuition are required. Enrollment is expected to be continuous for the entire year. No credits or refunds will be issued for dropping early from the program.

Additional fees may be required for USAG athlete membership, optional team warm-ups, gym bag, parent apparel, and private lessons.

“I have really been impressed with this place. My daughter absolutely loves the coaches, who are beaming with positivity and enthusiasm. She is having such a good experience, and I see a nice balance between pushing them to be better and letting them have fun.”

– Leslie G., Grossmont Center

“My daughter has been coming to SDG for about eight months now and absolutely loves it. The coaches are great, patient, fun, and always ready to take on the class. My daughter has moved up in levels quickly, and she is only 6. I attribute this to the excellent and continuous training she receives weekly.”

– Alma L., Otay Ranch
